Dermot O’Shea recently spoke at an event to mark the bicentenary of the erection of the ornamental metal bridge at Oak Park estate, near Carlow. The event was entitled “Oak Park Metal Bridge 1818 – 2018: History and Conservation” and Dermot was one of two speakers, with Dr. Ronald Cox, to trace the origins of the bridge and the conservation of the structure in 2005, which brought the bridge back into use for light vehicular traffic.  Read more here: oak-park-bridge-lecture-notes-cox-and-oshea[1]
